Washi Tape, Japanese Deco Tape, Mixtape and Happy Tape are all the same – they are the newest trend in the crafting scene. The thing about this tape is, it's kinda like stamps or stickers or paper. Once you start buying them, you will catch a little mean virus that makes you wanna buy more and more different patterns and colors of the tape

I myself started out by putting those tapes on my last Christmas wish list and my husband got me like eight rolls. At the very beginning I was unsure how to use it and I regret that I didn't wish for something a bit more useful... Anyways, after a few days of looking at the very pretty Washi Tape rolls I finally got into it. I started to feel the groove, if you know what I mean.

Washi Tape is very versatile. They can vary from manufacturer to manufacturer. Hambly for an instant makes very colorful patterns. They are very sticky which you can't say about American Crafts. Their tapes are more settle and not as sticky as Hambly. But the main thing that holds the Washi Tape family together is the fact that the tape is very thin and translucent which makes it very easy to tear by hand. Also it does not leave any residue on most surfaces – that makes it perfect for sticking plain pictures on walls, doors, fridges... you name it!

You might think that, since the rolls look so small, there isn't much product there, right? Well, at least that was the first thought I had when I unpacked my Christmas present back in the days. But let me honestly tell you this. I have been using A LOT of tape during the last past months and my rolls still look like I haven't even touched them!

One of my favorite ways to use it on scrapbooking layouts is to make little edge decorations by using Washi Tape and making it fancier with fabric scraps and sewing right over the whole bunch. Another cool way is to use it by simply tearing off a little piece and sticking it right over a picture on the layout.
You see, there are so many different ways and approaches to using this amazing tape! Every scrapbooker should get at least a few rolls

Now, seven months later I am a proud owner of 29 different types of washi tape! I told ya, it's like catching a mean little virus

    Hambly Studios
As already mentioned, Hambly makes some really cool and vivid patterns! I really adore the turquoise wood grain, but also their other patterns are super lovely! Their packages consists of three different rolls in two different sizes which is very nice to have, it gives you some cool variety in your future Washi Tape collection

    American Crafts
The really cool thing with American Crafts Mixtape is, that they not only have very feminine colors but also cute patterns like banners and doily edges. The colors are more settle and the product itself is very light and paper like. My top favorite is the Dear Lizzy Enchanted, designed by Elisabeth Kartchner. They come in packs of three and two different sizes.

    SMASH by K&Company
K&Company has recently come out with their first two rolls of Washi Tape for their awesome SMASH line. It's very affordable and you get quiet a lot of product with each roll. They are sold separate which gives you the full control of what you get in the end. I like that a lot!

    Cath Kidston
Oh my, I love Cath Kidston products... It's a company from the UK and I basically flipped out when I saw, that Amazon.com is carrying the Cath Kidston Tapes! They have two different packages called 'Red Stars' and 'Yellow Stars' which both consist of three different patterns. They are extremely feminine, but still have that special something which I have not seen so far with any other company! It's definitely a must have!
